ABOUT US

Violette Wine is a small importing/distribution company in Massachusetts founded by Richard Kzirian in 1984. Violette, named after Richard’s mother Viola, focuses on winemakers who are conscious of environmental farming and clean wines that are made with just grapes. Over the years, Richard has worked to build a portfolio based on his travels to vineyards, in which he learned the fundamentals of organic and natural winemaking. In 2018, Richard’s daughter, Sophie, joined him to co-run the company.

what we do

We import and distribute wines from winemakers who are dedicated to making expressive terroir driven wines with minimal intervention. Our wines are available at shops and restaurants throughout Massachusetts.

THE retail shop IS NOW CLOSED

Firstly, to avoid confusion I would like to say that our import/wholesale/distribution business is here to stay and we are excited to keep growing! We will still be working with all the same winemakers and selling to Massachusetts restaurants and shops.

That said, after almost 40 years we’ve made the difficult decision to close our retail shop in mid-June.

The store selections will live on through our imports + distribution business. We are lucky to be in an amazing community with a wonderful + growing selection of independent shops that sell great wine.
